Ingredients:
1 can dried beef
4 slices of white onion
4 (heaping) Tbsp flour
1 stick margarine
2 cubes of chicken bouillon
4 cups milk
Directions:
Slice dried beef in thin strips.
Rinse with warm water. (The more you rinse the less saltier the beef will be),
Chop and sauté onions in butter.
Melt butter and make a roux with the flour on a medium high heat.
Cook for about 1 minute.
Crush bouillon and add to rue.
Slowly add milk while stirring.
The mixture should be boiling.
Add more milk to thin.
Add dried beef.
Serve over toast immediately.
Variations: You can serve over biscuits or potatoes. You can use green onion sliced thin in place of white onion. You can dice and sauté green pepper to add to mixture as well. You can use 1 lb. browned ground beef in place of dried beef.
