Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 8 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat margarine with sugar in a large bowl until creamy.
- Blend in egg and vanilla.
- Stir in flour, oats, and cinnamon thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl combine sliced apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and allspice. Mix well.
- Evenly spoon apple mixture into a shallow 3 quart casserole dish.
- Spoon topping mixture evenly over apple filling.
- Bake 1 hour or till golden brown.
